They are short, intensive programs that use innovative ways of learning and teaching, including online collaborative work.
They aim to reach students from any field and level of studies and offer an opportunity for shorter international mobility to students who, for any reason, cannot or do not wish to undertake long-term mobility.
Each Erasmus BIP is organized by a consortium of at least 3 universities from 3 different countries. The UPV can be the coordinating institution and the host university or a partner of the consortium and the sending institution.
Erasmus BIP programs include challenge-based learning where transnational teams of students work together to tackle challenges or projects. Sometimes, work groups combine students from different areas of study to approach a project from different perspectives and they will have to learn to collaborate and complement each other.
With the support of teaching staff from the participating universities, the groups of students will work collaboratively as a team, combining a period of online work and a period of face-to-face work in which all students will travel to the country of the organizing university for mobility. short, usually a week. In most cases, students first work and learn online, and the face-to-face mobility period of a week is the closure of the project. In some cases, online activity can continue after the in-person work week.
Teaching and learning activities are different in each Erasmus BIP program. They may include:
- Online sessions to introduce teachers, and objectives and to create workgroups |

The final result can be a presentation, a series of posters or graphic material, a video, a blog, a webpage, a computer tool or app, or a combination of several things. Each BIP is unique.
(I'm a student) It sounds interesting. How can I participate in a BIP Programme. When do I have to apply? Unlike long-term Erasmus mobilities (a semester or full academic year at another university), which are mostly requested in November for the following academic year, there is no fixed calendar for Erasmus BIPs. At different times of the year, the UPV may receive proposals from international partners to be members of an Erasmus BIP consortium. When this happens, the OPII and the International Relations Offices of the Schools and Faculties analyze which UPV degrees best fit the topic and idea of the organizing university, and we disseminate them among the students through different means (email, social networks of OPII and Center, monitors, degree coordinators, etc.). There will first be a candidate selection process (internal at the UPV or directly with the host partner university). Selected students will then receive instructions to apply for Erasmus financial aid for an Erasmus BIP. The UPV will not finance the mobility of any UPV students to an Erasmus BIP programme when those students have applied directly to the coordinating institution without having previously received confirmation from the UPV (normally the International Relations Office of their School or Faculty) that they will be eligible for financial support. and have received instructions in this regard. If that is the case, the student is free to participate in the Erasmus BIP if s/he has been accepted by the coordinating university, but UPV will not provide any funding or academic recognition of any kind. Erasmus financial support for Erasmus BIP Programmes is guaranteed for students whose acceptance into a BIP has been confirmed, as long as a series of requirements and conditions are met:
