The Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (MUICCP) qualifies students to exercise the regulated profession of Civil Engineer (MICCP). The Master's Degree in Transport, Territory and Urban Planning (MUTTU) provides in-depth knowledge in the related subjects of urban planning and territory, as well as in transport systems, both terrestrial and maritime. Both Master’s Degrees have overlaps between them.
Therefore, a student who wants to acquire the professional skills to work as a Civil Engineer and, in addition, wants a professional or research specialisation in transport engineering, territory and urban planning, has in this double master's degree the opportunity to receive a comprehensive training that provides the professional qualification of Civil Engineer and a strong specialisation in these fields.
The double degree allows you to acquire the competences of both master's degrees through an integrated academic pathway. All this at a lower time and financial cost than the cost of obtaining both master's degrees individually. Thus, a MUICCP student, instead of taking the 120 ECTS of the MUICCP master's degree and the 90 ECTS of the MUTTU master's degree, will take, together 165 ECTS credits, representing a saving of 45,0 ECTS. This proposal is offered in the MUICCP>MUTTU direction, meaning that the non professional Máster (MUTTU) represents, for the student, an extensión of the specialization in transport, territory and urbanism planification and management, in respect to the acquired in the professional Master (MUICCP).
