SEAMIC_Ethics in research

In this video the importance of ethics in research is emphasized, particularly the need to be aware of the consequences of one's actions and to respect people's integrity, values, and physical well-being. The speaker highlights two essential values in research: respect and rigor. Respect involves considering the social and environmental context, while rigor involves being precise in the use of concepts and methodologies. To guide responsible research, 10 questions are presented, covering aspects such as the purpose of research, informed consent, risks and benefits, confidentiality, transparency, vulnerable populations, conflict of interest, and communication of results. These questions aim to promote ethical behavior and integrity in research.
