Creation of the Andersen UPV Chair

Andersen and the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) have created the Andersen UPV Chair of Sustainability and Regulated Markets to promote the culture of integral sustainability in companies, especially in regulated sectors, through activities such as conferences, training sessions, scholarships, or awards.

This Chair, located in the Faculty of Business Administration and Management of the UPV, will convey the importance of this new culture and business practices through training activities with students in matters of great relevance for companies and institutions such as sustainability and ESG criteria.

In addition, it will study the impact of regulations in highly regulated markets such as energy, communications, transport, and finance, among others. It will also carry out activities such as collaborations in master’s degrees or seminars and specialized publications, as well as specific training programs or collaboration with technological institutes, research activities, internships in companies, scholarships, and awards, among others.

The signing of the creation of the Chair took place at the headquarters of the Rectorate of the UPV, where José Esteban Capilla Romá, Rector of the UPV and José Vicente Morote, Managing Partner of Andersen in Iberia, formalized the agreement.

At the event, José Vicente Morote stated “The Chair is a project in which Andersen has been involved from the very moment this possibility arose. Firstly, because Andersen has always maintained close ties with the academic world, as well as because continuous training and teaching are part of our culture. Secondly, we are convinced of the importance of connecting academic activity with the business world, especially in a new area with such relevant legal and social implications as sustainability and ESG criteria, areas in which Andersen has highly specialized teams. And finally, because the Polytechnic University of Valencia is an institution of great prestige and reference in the Valencian Community and in Spain as a whole, and with which we are pleased to be able to collaborate closely in the field of training and research”.

Virginia Vega, director of the Chair, highlighted the opportunities offered by the Andersen UPV Chair in Sustainability and Regulated Markets: “This academic space will prepare students to understand the complexities of corporate sustainability, and provide them with practical tools and access to specialized knowledge. This will position them as future leaders in a global marketplace that increasingly demands legal and ethical expertise to address challenges such as climate change and energy transition.”
