Andersen UPV Chair co-sponsors a conference to rethink the business model

On April 15, 2025, the Hotel Las Arenas de Valènciahosted the event “Sustainability: the path to a responsible future,” organized by the newspaper Valencia Plaza and co-sponsored by the Andersen UPV Chair of Sustainability and Regulated Markets.

This event is part of the Special Plaza Sustainability 2025: a commitment to the future. This initiative aims to highlight the efforts of the business, academic, and institutional sectors to move towards more sustainable, innovative models that are committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A space for plural and necessary reflection

In the morning, two working groups were held, during which professionals from different sectors shared ideas, experiences, and proposals on the major challenges of sustainability.

Roundtable 1: Business transformation towards sustainability

They discussed how to move from a linear to a circular economy, responsible supply chains, innovation in sustainable solutions, and tools for measuring environmental and social impact.

Representatives of the Consellería de Medio Ambiente de la Comunidad Valenciana (Valencian Regional Ministry of the Environment), the law firm AndersenStatkraftEcoAqua Mattresses, and the Port Authority of Valencia, with the moderation of Javier Alfonsodirector of Valencia Plaza.

Panel 2: Organizational culture and sustainability

The second round table focused on how organizations can integrate sustainability into their corporate culture, with the participation of Redeiathe Andersen Chair UPV Master’s Degree in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability of the UPV and Valencia Port, moderated by Sabrina FemeníaDirector of Innovation and Business Development at IGE.

Committed to a future with purpose

Through the participation and co-sponsorship of this event, the Andersen Chair UPV reaffirmed its commitment to the generation of knowledge, dialogue, and action around sustainability. With the firm belief that these spaces are essential to build bridges between universities, companies, and public administration, and thus, continue moving towards an economic development that respects the planet and people.
