In a world defined by technological progress, education faces the challenge of reinventing itself to meet the needs of emerging generations, particularly Generation Alpha. This challenge was the central theme of the recent Work Package 3: Future Learning event held at the Universitat Politècnica de València.
The event was attended by representatives from the Alliance’s member universities, fostering a collaborative dialogue to design innovative educational strategies. This initiative aligns with ENHANCE’s mission to anticipate and adapt to future demands by integrating digital tools into European educational proposals.

Over two days, participants examined several topics related to educational innovation, including the impact of personalisation in education to optimise students’ academic performance by addressing their needs.
One of the most outstanding sessions was the talk “Using Socrative and AI to Reinforce Threshold Concepts”, presented by María José Canet Sabiela and Asun Pérez Pascual from the Department of Electronic Engineering of UPV. In this presentation, we discussed how AI tools, using data and material previously selected by the professors in charge, can transform the educational experience and support students’ continuous learning.

Another key theme was the development and implementation of Smart Learning Environments, which combine advanced technology and pedagogical techniques to create personalised spaces that allow students to learn at their own pace.
The meeting not only provided an opportunity to share knowledge but also strengthened ties between universities, reflecting the importance of collaboration in addressing today’s educational challenges. The discussions were not limited to theoretical ideas but also included practical strategies to facilitate understanding these new concepts.
By integrating innovative pedagogical and technological approaches, ENHANCE aims to ensure that educational strategies also prepare students for a changing labour market, equipping them with key skills to meet the challenges of a more digital Europe.
