In order to carry out internships in companies, the UPV signs educational cooperation agreements with companies and institutions (internship agreements). These agreements establish the regulatory framework for relations between students, companies/institutions and the University.

Apply for your internship is a web application that facilitates the processing of a practice simulating the conditions under which the practice is carried out, and generating the agreement(s) that formalize it, avoiding errors.

The documentation must be sent by email and electronically signed to the Center’s internship office to which the student belongs with at least 10 days in advance indicating in the subject line “Student’s last name, first name + Start date of internship“. Partial or late submissions will not be accepted. Please note that if the documentation is incorrect, the start date will be affected.

All signatures on the internship agreement must be electronic signatures with a recognized digital certificate. Scanned signatures or electronic signatures not supported by a valid certificate will not be accepted. To check the validity of the signatures, it is recommended to use the link to the e-government portal.

General conditions of the internship

Internships are carried out in accordance with current Spanish legislation and that of the country where the internship takes place, the regulations approved by the Governing Council of the UPV and, if applicable, the specific regulations of the student’s Teaching Center regarding internships in companies, as well as the regulations in force regarding Social Security.

The general conditions are summarized below:

Dedication

  • Maximum of 40 hours per week.
  • Degree: In each degree program the student will have a maximum number of internship hours that he/she may perform. The maximum number of curricular hours is established by the syllabus (taking into account that1 ECTS credit is equivalent to 25 hours of internships.) and the maximum number of extracurricular hours on UPV Internship Regulations and the specific regulations of the Center, if applicable.

Dates

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees:The internship period is from September 1 to August 31.
  • CFP Proprietary Titles:The internships must be carried out within the academic period of the edition of the degree. However, if the edition of the degree ends in the following academic year to which it is attached, internships may only be carried out until the end of the academic period.
  • The internship documentationshould be sent by e-mail to Center’s internship office to which the student belongs with aat least 10 days prior to the start of the internship*..

* Exception: the month of August is considered non-business month for the processing of internship documentation, so an internship that is not completed in August is considered non-business month.start date is between July 26 and September 10.you will have of deadline for submission of documentation is July 16.

Other conditions

  • The intern must be registered in the curriculum database of the SIE .
  • The practices can be eithercurricula likeextracurricular. In order to carry out the curricular internships, the student must be enrolled in the corresponding internship before the beginning of the internship.
  • Help bagThe company must provide a stipend as a stipend or study grant. The minimum and/or maximum stipend established by the University must be respected.
  • The training project shall establish the educational objectives and activities to be developed. The objectives shall be established considering the basic, generic and/or specific competencies to be acquired by the student. Likewise, the content of the internship must be directly related to the studies taken.
  • The internship must have aresponsible tutor at the University and a tutor at the companyThe student’s training, compliance with the training project and with the applicable regulations on internships.
  • The student will be subject to theregimeyschedule to be determined, in accordance with the requirements established in the UPV Internship Regulations . The company/institution will facilitate the student’s participation in the academic and representation activities of compulsory attendance, as well as in any necessary medical visit.
  • For internships in Spain, the UPV subscribes to aoccupational accident and liability insurance policy for the student. For internships abroad, the student must present, together with this agreement, a document certifying that the student is insured by a policy with the minimums established by the UPV for internships.
  • The student cannot perform an internship with a company with which he/she already has an establishedcontractual relationshipThe internship is not related to the studies to which the internship is linked, unless the activity carried out in the company is not related to the studies to which the internship is linked.
