ENHANCE European Education Pathways - Introduction and description

ENHANCE, the European Universities of Technology Alliance, brings together ten leading European research-intensive universities with a focus on science and technology.

The ENHANCE Alliance offers a diverse range of learning opportunities with the skills needed to tackle global challenges.

Our innovative educational options are structured around three axes.

One of these three axes is the Guided Education Paths: https://enhanceuniversity.eu/guided-education-paths/

These paths consist of a predefined set of courses across selected disciplines drawn from the offerings of member universities, allowing for customization to align with students’ personal interests and learning objectives.

Courses offered through the ENHANCE Guided Education Paths are pre-approved by the home institution, ensuring guaranteed recognition of ECTS credits.

The ENHANCE Guided Education Paths are currently available in the following fields of study:

  • Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor and Master level))

  • Energy Engineering (Master level)

  • Computer Science (Master level)

  • Urban Planning (Master level)

ADVANTAGES OF THE GUIDED PATHWAYS VERSUS CLASSIC ERASMUS MOBILITY

At UPV, almost all courses (subjects) have limited enrollment capacity due to face-to-face teaching, (usually) mandatory attendance, and practical classes in labs and workshops with limited space. This means that UPV can never guarantee enrollment in specific courses for regular Erasmus students, especially if these courses are taught in English. The enrolment in the courses is only confirmed after students arrive, at the beginning of each semester.

However, students nominated by one of the participating institutions for one of the ENHANCE Guided Education Pathways receive preference and we guarantee a spot in the courses offered to them.

Please note that this guarantee of a spot in the courses applies only to the specific courses offered in each Guided Path (pre-approved by the home institution).

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

The availability of courses taught in English (or English-friendly) is different each semester and for each of the 5 different pathways.

In some semesters and some ENHANCE Guided Paths, it is possible to study only in English. In other semesters or Guided Paths, students must combine courses taught in English and Spanish. In some cases, only courses in Spanish are available.
