Innovative actions PIAE+ 2023/2024
PIAE+ as an innovative and constantly developing project aims to respond to the needs of our students. In its eagerness to innovate and renew itself, this year it is developing four key actions for the university community of the present and the future:
Improved academic performance
PIAE+ combats dropout at the UPV with educational improvement projects (PIME), counseling for underperforming students and the use of AI for early detection and prevention, in collaboration with the Vice Rectorate for Academic Planning and Digital Transformation.
Route to Employment
From PIAE+ we have launched the “Route to Employment UPV” together with the Integrated Employment Service, to train and improve employability.
UPV Innovation
Leading the following three actions of the Work Plan: o TFM and TFG in Company o CPI Tour eXperience o Specific workshops for student delegations.
Accompanying program for high capacities
The UPV collaborates with the Valencian Association for the Support of High Abilities to support students through activities and specific training for teachers, enhancing their skills, motivation and integration, together with AVAST, the Communication Area and ICE.
PIAE+ Consolidated Projects
The UPV is the first Spanish university that has implemented an accompaniment program for all undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses. For this reason, the team of tutors and those responsible for the PIAE+ program have carried out a series of actions, the most important of which, due to their high impact and/or recurrence, are the following:
Consolidated PIAE+ actions
Since 2021 the PIAE+ has developed multiple actions with very specific objectives and in response to the needs expressed by our students, some of the consolidated actions are shown here.
PIAE+ doctoral actions
In collaboration with the Doctoral School, we appreciate actions such as the CDTM actions, the creation of the PIAE+ doctoral students team or the Support to the training and social initiatives of the students’ delegation.
PIAE+ Master Actions
In collaboration with the research programs area, we appreciate actions such as the Master’s Degree Welcome Days, the Participation in CDTM Event, the Master’s Degree Informative Talk, or the Scholarships and Grants Informative Talk.
PIAE+ undergraduate and 1st year actions
PIAE+ offers services to undergraduate students of all courses, some of the actions are shown here.
PIAE+ Publications
From its beginnings, PIAE+ has been concerned about having an integrating image and evidencing its institutional objectives, in which the student is the center of attention. Therefore, it has been generating publications around the dissemination of the project:
Guide for the attention of high ability students
Publication in UPV publishing house of the guide for the attention of high ability students in bilingual, the only resource of its kind in a university environment in Spain.
PIAE+ Awards
The UPV is the first Spanish university that has implemented an accompaniment program for all undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses. Leadership of the educational innovation and improvement project
Leadership of the institutional innovation and educational improvement project (PIME) for the detection and prevention of academic dropout at the UPV.
National Best Practices Award 2023
PIAE+ has been awarded the National Best Practices Award 2023 for the best University Accompaniment program in the IX edition of the SIOU (University Information and Guidance Services).
