CertAcles Certification Exams

The Language Center of the UPV establishes exams to facilitate the accreditation of foreign language proficiency for the general public and members of the university community.

These certificates will be valid to accredit the knowledge of a foreign language from level A2 to C1, both in undergraduate, postgraduate, master’s degree, mobility programs, etc. of the members of the UPV University Community.

The exams will be conducted within the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and will be held at least twice a year (May and November).

The minimum age to take the exam is 16 years old.

IMPORTANT NEWS CONCERNING CertAcles CERTIFICATION TESTS

The Social Council of the UPV, in session held on April 22, 2021, approved the proposed modification of the fees for the CertAcles Proficiency Certification exams administered by the Language Center (CDL). This modification will come into effect from the November 2021 call.

The amount of the fees is modified and two possibilities of enrollment are established:

Full tuition for the four macro-skills (speaking, writing, listening, reading and listening comprehension)
Enrollment by blocks (Productive skills block: oral and written expression/ Receptive skills block: listening and reading comprehension)*.

In the case of not passing one of the blocks of the tests (productive skills block or receptive skills block), the mark of the block passed will be kept for the immediately following exam session, allowing the candidate to register in the following exam session only for the block not passed.

Important:

*ONLY for those candidates who have not passed one of the blocks in the immediately previous call.

*The grade will be maintained ONLY once and only if the candidate registers for the immediately following exam session, otherwise he/she will have to attend the complete exam session again (4 macro-skills).

TUITION FEES:

– Fee for members of the university community:

A2 —- block of productive + block of receptive – 50 €.
B1 —- block of productive + block of receptive – 50 €.
B2 —- productive block + receptive block – 70 €.
C1 —- block of productive + block of receptive – 70 €

– Fee for UPV external students:

A2 —- block of productive + block of receptive – 65 €
B1—- block of productive + block of receptive – 65 €
B2 —- block of productive + block of receptive – 91 €.
C1 —-productive block + receptive block – 91 €.

* 5 will be added to these fees as a technical secretariat fee.

SECOND ENROLLMENT FEES:

– Second registration fees per skill block (only for candidates who have passed one of the two skill blocks in the immediately preceding exam session).

*Fees will not be refunded once the registration period is over.
Once the registration period is over, the only cause for refund may be:
Medical or serious cause justified by documentary evidence on the day of the exam.
The amount to be refunded will not include UPV technical secretariat expenses..

EXAMINATION DATES:

Oral exams:

B1 and C1: will take place between May 19 and 23, 2025.

B2 : to be carried out between June 2 and 6, 2025.

Dates to be confirmed. Enrolled students will be notified in advance of the final date of the oral exam.

Listening, reading and writing:

B1 and C1: Saturday, May 24, 2025.

B2: Saturday, May 31, 2025.

ONLINE REGISTRATION:
