“Excite, entertain, motivate, surprise. You never know whom you are inspiring”… UPV recognizes the extraordinary work of secondary education teachers”
Each year, UPV honors the 25 best teachers from the secondary education stage: compulsory secondary education (ESO), baccalaureate, and vocational training programs. Our first-year students propose this distinction for those teachers who, during their time, left a mark on them due to their exceptional abilities, dedication, mastery of their subjects, patience, involvement, and ability to motivate.
With this initiative, UPV seeks to strengthen the relationship with secondary school teachers. This recognition helps to build bridges between the two educational stages and create connections. The university acknowledges the excellent work of middle school teachers, valuing their effort and dedication. Furthermore, an event of this nature helps to dignify the profession and highlights the fundamental and indispensable role of secondary education teachers.
In the editions conducted by UPV, outstanding teachers come from every corner of the Valencian Community: Vinaròs, Segorbe, Benidorm, Elda, Villena, Alcoy, Vilamarxant, Cullera, La Pobla de Vallbona… Teachers predominantly teach technical subjects—Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technology, Technical Drawing, Computer Science—but also Valencian, Spanish, or Geography and History.
Recognition of the “Magistrales” Project
It is worth noting that the Universitat Politècnica de València has been awarded the Good Practices prize for the third consecutive year, which is granted to Spanish universities in recognition of initiatives that promote academic excellence and innovation in teaching. This award highlights the university’s commitment to impactful projects, including the Magistrales program.
Recognition from academic institutions is not only a source of pride for the university but also underscores the importance of adopting educational practices that meet the needs of a constantly changing society. Thus, the Universitat Politècnica de València continues its commitment to educational excellence and innovation, positioning itself as a reference in the Spanish academic landscape and contributing to the development of highly qualified future professionals.

“Thank you for getting us used to difficult things in baccalaureate. Now university is much easier.” “We admire you.”
“You have inspired, supported, and guided us. You have given us the strength and desire to continue studying and have been key in important decisions.”

This initiative makes it clear that talent is not the exclusive domain of any locality, gender, age, or system. Teachers who leave a mark can be found equally among men and women, newcomers to the profession and veterans on the brink of retirement, teaching in large cities and small municipalities, in public, private, and concerted education.
