Retrópolis Festival de retroinformática i videojoc clàssic – València 2023

Retrópolis València, the event dedicated to retrocomputing of reference in the city of Valencia, returns one more year to the facilities of the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria Informàtica of the Universitat Politècnica de València.

The 6th edition will be held on April 29th, 2023.

We will have an exhibition of old consoles and computers of all generations and we will enjoy lectures, indie developers, workshops, live podcasts (RetroMania30), street market and, of course, raffles and tournaments:

  • 11.00 a.m – Bomberman-Dynablaster
  • 12.30 p.m. – Windjammers
  • 4.30 p.m – Retro Twitchers’ Wars
  • 6.00 p.m – Street Fighter 2

In addition, visitors will be able to play in some of these emblematic relics that have made history and laid the foundations for today’s industry.

Additional activities will also be included, such as workshops with Alan Turing’s Enigma machine, conferences, guided visits to the ETSINF Computer Museum, where you will be able to see machines that predate what is considered retro (mainframes, target punchers, etc.), equipment that cannot be seen at any other event of this type.

At the end of the day, the awards ceremony will be held for the I Edition of the RetroPaella Awardsthe video game development contest for 8 and 16 bit systems that will be the great novelty of next year.

Access is free as always but preferably through sustainable entry or solidarity entry on the basis of the Videojocs x Aliments project,The activity of which is mainly focused on the collection of non-perishable food with destination, in this case, to the Food Bank of Valencia.Access to the event in exchange for:

  • 1 kg of non-perishable food
  • 1 residu d’aparell elèctric/electrònic (RAEE)
