Alex Francés (Valencia, 1962)

Multidisciplinary artist, PhD in Fine Arts and master’s degree in Artistic Production from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.

The work of Álex Francés focuses on the relationship between body and image; he understands the work of art or the artistic image as the place par excellence where the body is given, manifested and produced. He currently works in different media and lines of research around this imaginary construction of the body, videos that incorporate sound and music, and sculptural installations that incorporate found objects, plaster, painted crochet, textile material and other elements.

The work of Alex Francés is part of public and private collections and has held numerous exhibitions, both solo and group. He is currently showing a selection of his work from the last ten years at the Centre del Carmen in Valencia.
