Day of textile arts and crafts, consisting of 4 practical workshops, guided from a gender perspective, ecological and an approach decolonial. It seeks to rescue the ancestral productions transmitted orally by our ancestors, through the revision of textile techniques traditionally considered women’s work and undervalued as domestic chores, understanding them as a concrete possibility of contributing to a sustainable environment.
We propose to generate a space for reflection on our habits of unstoppable consumption with a view towards degrowth and an ecological economy that respects the environment, which also puts in value other forms of production and consumption carried out by women from different corners of the world. Taking as references theories of fair trade and sumak kawsay. We believe that this rescue and enhancement of the value of our work will reposition us as powerful women capable of offering ways of change and solutions to the environmental and social crisis that afflicts us.
