It is the first in a series of multidisciplinary seminars aimed at exploring the meaning of contemporary architecture in the rural environment.
We start from a conceptual premise: rural is not considered an antonym of urban.
This and the successive seminars will serve as a basis for researching the possibilities of an architectural teaching and praxis that will provide a basis for the meaning of contemporary architecture in the realm of what is not morphologically a city and where there is a rich urban space thanks to the media landscape, through inter, pluri or transdisciplinary formulas.
In this first meeting the dialogue may deal with:
– The place of memory as an engine of progress in rural areas.
– The place of rural buildings in the collective imaginary and in contemporary ways of living.
– The place of the people who take care of the rural constructions and are custodians of the memory in the urban-rural space.
– The place of the architect and contemporary architecture in the co-creation of a new rurality.
