The International Festival of Minimal Urban Video Performances “cuerpo urbano en acción”, is launched in its first edition through an open call (international) in order to gather a set of videographic works -understanding these in its broadest definition of recording actions, interventions or videoperformances- that collect minimal actions performed in urban space.
It is about short videos (maximum 2′ ), recorded with cell phones, cameras… in which a small performance that has taken place in the urban space is recorded through minimal performative gestures in everyday life. The concept of “minimal” action is not only quantitative because of its duration (which can even be longer if it is an extract of a repetitive action), but it is also qualitative because of its ambivalent significance (minimum-maximumThe urban environment (transit spaces, furniture and buildings) in which we live and share on a daily basis as fleeting passers-by, as well as other ways of relating to an occasional citizenry and its urban environment (transit spaces, furniture and buildings), are relevant-intranscendent, noticed-unnoticed, unusual or banal. These minimal urban actions can be carried out individually or in groups.
Call for applications open until June 1st
