Date: November 14th, 2019
Place: Ground floor of the Casa del Alumno
Hours: from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

Jornada Ghana Kente is a cultural proposal that aims to make known to the entire university community of the UPV (students, PAS, PDI, …), the culture, language and traditions of the countries of northwest Africa such as Ghana, Benin, Burkina Fasso, Nigeria, among others. A way to bring cultures and traditions closer and to create bonds of union and bridges of connection between Europe and Africa through different forms of expression. With the help of the non-profit association Kobena&Ko, it is proposed to give a glimpse of the cultural richness of Africa through its concert “Heartbeat of the Heart of Africa.”.

In the Heartbeat of Africa Concert, formed by Ghanaian musicians, rhythms from the different regions of Ghana are combined with traditional instruments and sounds, creating rhythms of the Akan, Ga, Ewe and Northern Ghanaian rhythms. These rhythms have influences from all over Black Africa.
