Theremin Concert

The theremin is the first electronic musical instrument that has reached our days, it has the particularity that it is played without physical contact between the performer and the instrument itself, making use of electromagnetic waves to produce music.

It is a musical instrument that serves to explain concepts such as antenna radiation, interference, wave frequency, modulation…. In addition, the historical and social context where the instrument was born serves to tell our most recent history from a kaleidoscopic point of view and how technology influences social movements, and vice versa.

In this concert we will enjoy an eclectic repertoire, mixing classical pieces with contemporary music, by two theremin soloists: Randy George and Francisco Isla, accompanied by the UPV Chamber Group.
