Hours: at 12:00 noon

This project is a commission to the composer and sound artist Alberto Bernal for the Festival “Resonancias” of the Reina Sofía Museum, curated by José Luis Espejo. The idea behind the proposal is to integrate artists from the world of sound art and contemporary music in the realization of an intervention in a space of the University. The singularity of the composition would no longer be an isolated and realizable content in any neutral place, but precisely its relationship with a specific space or place and all the significance and memory that it carries with itself. The different elements that make up the UPV campus will be used as a set of elements from which the work will materialize: the multiple paths and itineraries described in its interior will be traveled by a performer, whose walking position will determine the action of the four percussionists, initially located in four corners of the space. Subsequently, it is the percussionists themselves who will also walk through the space, awakening its multiple resonances through their movement, and creating in the spectators a listening experience that will vary depending on where they are located or how they move during the intervention. And, along with the paths, also some of the sound elements present in the space itself, whose sound will be intervened or awakened by the percussionists: fountains, different trees and bushes, or the benches that occupy the place. The space thus becomes an augmented reality through sound, a macro-instrument. In the Mobile project will participate 4 percussionists and will have the collaboration of 8 students of the subject of Sound Art of the degree in Fine Arts with the preparation of the Professor of the Department of Sculpture Miguel Molina Alarcón and the advice of the sound artist Alberto Bernal.
