To make and to unmake, thinking with your handsis the public presentation of the works that are part of the Cañada Blanch Collection Award 2022. The works presented in this edition, although they address different issues of concern in our days, curiously respond to a similar approach to artistic practice, showing a great interest in work processes and experimentation with materials.
To feel the material, the tools, to make, think, look, undo, remake and play with the freedom of those who are not afraid to make and unmake, to establish a dialogue between practice and thought, between procedure and concept. Doing with the hands as a way of thinking and approaching creative practice. This is the way to approach the creative process of some of the artists who are part of this exhibition.. And although undoing is the opposite of doing, here, doing and undoing are DOING. Doing, undoing and redoing is nothing but evolution. Because, sometimes, going back is the best way to move forward.
With the intention of promoting the dissemination of contemporary art and consolidating the cultural fabric of the Valencian Community, LaVAC, the Cañada Blanch Foundation, the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Universitat de València, have worked together to make this eighth edition a success.
