Triathlon

The UPV triathlon section was founded in September 1996 by a group of UPV students and alumni (Juan Antonio García (Toño), Manu Moneva and Miguel Mora and Edu Martín). It started competing in the 1997 season, year in which Javier Andrés (student of Industrial Engineering), Pilar Raro (student of Teleco) and Daniel Monleón (former student of Architecture) also joined the team. Manu Moneva and Pilar Raro were the first to stand out winning races. Manu came second, behind Borja Oses, in the 2000 Spanish University Championship.

Although the section started with a majority group of UPV members and a low percentage of external members (around 10%), currently these two groups are more balanced, where we have 38 members (25 UPV members and 13 external members).

Currently the section competes mainly in the league of clubs Caixa popular, in the promotion division, both in duathlon and triathlon events of different distances organized by the Valencian triathlon federation.
