The Universitat Politècnica de València has extensive sports facilities that meet the demands of its members and the university community. It also provides support to external users, allowing them to use the facilities to play. The Sports Area maintains a commitment to innovation and constant improvement, so the investment in modernizing and adapting the facilities to new trends and new technologies is permanent.

The four sports buildings: the Pabellón Polideportivo, the Main Building, the Servei d’Esports 5R building and the Trinquet Politècnic El Genovés, together with the adjacent facilities, form the sports infrastructures of the Universitat Politècnica on the Vera campus and support a wide range of sports offerings.

The Alcoy Sports Pavilion, a modern 30 meters x 50 meters building, has been supporting a wide variety of sports programs on the Alcoy campus since June 2014.

The Gandia campus has a weight room, a fitness room and a renovated core of outdoor team sports facilities.

CORE SPORTS PAVILION

The Sports Pavilion of the Universitat Politècnica de València is a modern building of 51 meters x 83 meters of floor and 14 meters of height free of obstacles with bleachers with a capacity for 356 people, which houses the following sports facilities:

Multisport courts for the simultaneous practice of four games in the case of basketball and volleyball or two games in the case of handball and indoor soccer. It has four electronic scoreboards and public address, telephone and computer network connections in each of the courts.

For climbing enthusiasts, the pavilion offers a rock climbing wall 12 meters high and 15 meters wide, simulating a large natural rock with a 3-meter overhang with more than 1,400 anchor points for 8 simultaneous climbing routes of different grades. It also has two Boulder and a Campus Board for the practice and technical training of climbing.

Racquet sports have an indoor paddle tennis court with artificial turf and two squash courts with floating parquet. A weight room for the training of the university’s teams and selections. Annex to the pavilion as outdoor facilities, we have: three outdoor tennis courts of porous concrete, four outdoor paddle courts with artificial turf flooring and glass walls with bleachers for the public, two climbing blocks outside, gunite concrete and themed with a height of 4.5 meters each and a climbing surface of 220 meters, with capacity for 20 users simultaneously and 1,800 anchor points. The entire installation is surrounded by absorbent rubber.

CORE MAIN BUILDING

Located between two of the largest outdoor spaces on campus. The Main Building has the following sports facilities inside:
A 480 m2 air-conditioned weight room, a floating parquet aerobics room equipped for the practice of supervised activities, a floating parquet activity room equipped for the practice of new trends in soft gymnastics. Two tatamis, one hard biosuro and one soft double mat for the practice of martial arts and directed activities, three sports training classrooms with capacity for 55 people equipped with modern audiovisual and computer equipment to teach theoretical courses.

Outside this building we can find these spaces: stadium with athletics track and natural grass field for football-rugby: Emblematic facility in the University with a tartam ring of 8 lanes and 400 meters of rope surrounded by another perimeter surface of artificial turf that houses a natural grass field inside. The facility also has two straight lines for pole vaulting, a double straight line with two long jump and triple jump pits and cages for throwing events. A large scoreboard and public address system complete the facility.

A beach volleyball court of approximately 415 m2, attached to the athletics track.

Building 5R houses the blava room, equipped for the practice of health classroom activities, the rotja room equipped with bicycles for spinning and the verda room equipped for the free practice of cardiovascular exercises on machines.

In addition, it has the Espai Obert, a free access space for stretching and physical work of our athletes.

NUCLEUS TRINQUET POLITÈCNIC EL GENOVÉS

The Trinquet Politècnic El Genovés Building, which accommodates elements, measures and materials that make it a benchmark for future trinquet constructions, an area of bleachers within a laminated glass wall and air-conditioned,
with a capacity for 100 people seated, the trinquet of 57 meters long by 6.5 meters wide in the playing area and between walls of 9.5 meters wide. This building also houses the following sports facilities: a fencing room for practice and competition, a large space equipped for activities and meetings, a biosuro classroom for the practice of gentle gymnastics, two squash courts with floating parquet, two 30-meter frontons covered and attached on the north side of the building, a table tennis room with three tables.

Adjacent to this building are the following outdoor facilities:

A velodrome and outdoor multi-sport tracks. A running track with 4 cambered lanes. The facility has three multi-sports courts in the center for indoor soccer, handball, volleyball and basketball, with state-of-the-art synthetic pavement.

In July 2014, the new Pavilion was inaugurated in
Sports center of the Universitat Politècnica de València in the campus of Alcoy. A modern building of 30 meters x 50 meters of floor plan and 14 meters in height free of obstacles with two bleachers on the sides with a capacity for 200
people. The Pavilion houses the following sports facilities: Multi-sports courts for the simultaneous practice of two basketball or volleyball games or a handball or indoor soccer match.
An air-conditioned fitness room equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, a spinning room equipped with bicycles for the practice
The facilities include a soft tatami for the practice of martial arts, an activity room equipped with equipment, sound installation and material for the practice of the activities of the En Forma and Aula Salud programs.

In the garden area around the Pavilion there are two outdoor paddle tennis courts with artificial grass.

The following facilities are available at the Gandia campus:

An activity room and a fitness room for supervised activities and weight training, a multi-purpose room equipped for bouldering and table tennis.

In agreement with the City Council, users of the Área d’Esports also have facilities available for the practice of indoor soccer, basketball and volleyball.

In the line of continuing to improve the sports facilities of the Gandia campus, at the end of the 2018-2019 academic year, most of the machines in the Fitness Room were renewed. They were replaced by more modern, ergonomic and safe machines.
In addition, new machines with functionalities that were not available before were added to complete chest, biceps and triceps workouts. A new multi-station machine was also installed, allowing several people to train at the same time, and an area was set up for abdominal exercises.

In this line of providing all sports specialties with everything necessary for those practices most in demand, the Universitat Politècnica has, in addition to fixed constructions, boats for the practice of nautical sports such as a Benetau First 40 cruising boat.7- regatta of 12 meters in length, a Plateau-25 of more than 7 meters in length, a Valliant boat of 6 meters in length, two faluchos and two yachts for the practice of rowing and a prototype falucho for the competition of Mediterranean boats.
