Land occupation and use at the UPV
Our commitment
- Occupy only the land necessary for the development of our activities.
- Respect biodiversity and the ecological balance of occupied spaces.
- Use only the water that is strictly necessary for irrigation of landscaped areas.
- Dedicate to green areas or sports facilities all the space not occupied by the building.
- Use only native or adapted species in landscaping whose maintenance requires fewer resources.
- To adequately monitor land use by means of representative indicators.
Bird censuses
In order to monitor the bird populations present on the UPV campuses, two annual censuses are carried out.
The wintering bird census is carried out at the beginning of the year and is intended to monitor the birds that spend the winter and the species to which they belong.
The nesting bird census is carried out in spring and allows us to establish the number of birds that build their nests on campus and the species to which they belong. It is also the first step in carrying out the nest census.
