What is an environmental management system?
When we talk about environmental management we refer to the set of tasks that we carry out at the UPV to visit and control the environmental impact that our activities have.
The environmental management system establishes the general objectives of the UPV with respect to the environment and organizes all these tasks in order to achieve our objectives.
What are your objectives?
- Improve the UPV’s environmental performance by minimizing negative environmental impacts and enhancing potential positive impacts.
- Comply with the applicable legal requirements and all those that UPV has committed to comply with.
- Implement a process of continuous improvement by setting environmental objectives and monitoring compliance.
What is our approach?
Plan
Establish environmental objectives and determine who and when they are to be implemented. Also establish the actions necessary to control our environmental impact by indicating what, who and when they are to be carried out.
Make
Implement periodic actions and environmental objectives as planned.
Check
Track what we are doing and measure the degree to which we have achieved our objectives and whether our actions are achieving results.
Improve
Establish the necessary actions to correct what has not been done according to plan and what has not worked as expected with the objective of continuous improvement.
