Participation as external evaluator

In order to guarantee the quality of the thesis, and prior to its presentation, the thesis will be subjected to an external evaluation process. For this purpose, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program will propose four candidates to act as external evaluators, all of whom will be doctors with accredited research experience and recognized specialists in the subject of the thesis. Doctors who are members of the Universidad Politècnica de Valencia, or of other research centers that may be related to the realization or development of the corresponding doctoral thesis, will not be considered for these purposes.

Of these four candidates, two will be designated as evaluators and the rest as alternates.

The designated evaluators will receive an e-mail with the invitation to participate in the external evaluation process. If they accept the invitation, they will receive a digital copy of the thesis to be reviewed, and will have a maximum period of 30 days to issue their report through an electronic platform to which they will have access.

In the event of problems in accessing the electronic platform, the report may be completed using the corresponding template and sent to the Doctoral School.

The collaboration will be remunerated with a symbolic amount of 90€ from which the corresponding percentage of IRPF (15% for residents in Spain, 19% for residents in Europe and 24% for the rest) must be deducted. The UPV Doctoral School will contact each of the professors to collect the necessary documentation to be able to make this payment.

Professors who have participated in this process may request a certificate of participation from the Doctoral School.
