Selective Waste Collection
Waste Sorting
The Environmental Department of the Universitat Politècnica de València establishes the following waste classification for removal at Campus Gandia:
- Waste generated in laboratories
- Batteries
- Toners and cartridges
- Paper and paper products
- Lightweight packaging
- Compact discs
- Electrical and electronic wast
- Furniture and bulky items
Waste Collection Points
Campus Gandia has designated waste collection points located as follows:
Ground Floor BUILDING A (next to Classroom 6)
- Battery disposal bin
- Toner and cartridges bin (without packaging).
- Compact disc disposal bin
Ground Floor BUILDING B (Entrance next to the Cloister)
- Battery disposal bin
- Toner and cartridges bin(without packaging).
- Compact disc disposal bin
First floor outdoor area BUILDING B/E (Cloister outdoor area)
- Electronic and electrical waste bins (including PC monitors)
Other types of waste, such as paper or lightweight packaging, should be disposed of in the designated containers and trash bins distributed across the various Campus facilities.

Waste removal procedure
The waste removal process managed by the Environment Area is carried out according to the type of waste as follows:
a) Laboratory Waste
This waste is directly managed by the technicians responsible for each laboratory. The Environment area arranges for removal multiple times throughout the year.
b) Batteries
Users deposit batteries at the designated collection points outlined in section 2. The containers are removed several times during a year.
c) Toners and Cartridges
Users deposit toners and cartridges at the specified collection points in Section 2. These containers are emptied by an authorized company.
d) Paper and ipaper Products
Cleaning personnel collect paper waste and deposit it into larger containers, which are then collected weekly by an authorized company.
e) Lightweight Packaging
The handling of lightweight packaging follows the same process as that for paper and paper products.
f) Compact Discs (CDs)
Users deposit CDs at the collection points mentioned in Section 2, and the containers are emptied several times annually.
g) Electrical and Electronic Waste
This waste is deposited by users at the designated collection points in Section 2. The containers are removed several times a year.
h) Furniture and Bulky Items:
At specific times throughout the year, a dedicated container is provided, and all campus personnel are informed about its availability for proper disposal of furniture and bulky items.

Environmental Criteria
Paper Supply Criteria
Campus Gandia of the UPV environmental guidelines in its paper supply for administrative use. As part of its sustainability efforts, the various services at EPSG utilize two types of paper recommended by the Environmental Area’s guide for paper selection: 100% recycled paper and 50% recycled white paper.
