Ludovico Centis is an architect, founder of the architecture and urban planning firm The Empire and co-founder and director of the architecture magazine San Rocco. Centis holds a PhD in urban planning (Università IUAV di Venezia). He was a partner at Salottobuono architectural firm from 2007 to 2012. Centis received a Getty Library Research Fellowship in 2018 at the Getty Center in Los Angeles and a Paul Mellon Center Research Support Grant in 2020. He has been a postdoctoral research fellow in Architecture and Urbanism at Università IUAV di Venezia from 2018 to 2020. Centis has been an adjunct professor at Università IUAV di Venezia and Politecnico di Milano in 2019, as well as a visiting head of school at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London in Fall 2020.
