20 and 21 June 2024. Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Where should teacher education evolve to? What kinds of experiences can challenge and evolve our conceptions of learning and teaching?
These are the key questions that the next REDU seminar will address, a meeting that seeks to close the circle opened in Valencia in 2013. At that time, we questioned the effectiveness of university teacher training and put forward a hypothesis that has guided our work for ten years: the implicit conceptions of teachers about learning and teaching are barriers to their evolution and deactivate the potential of training activities to generate profound changes.
During the last decade, we have worked on programs such as the “Framework for Academic Teacher Development” and “MDAD Campus”, as well as initiatives such as the INED of the Universitat Politècnica de València. Our goal has always been to question and transform teaching conceptions in order to improve the effectiveness of teacher training.
This seminar is an opportunity to communicate, discuss and formalize the conclusions of these years of effort and learning. More details in the program.
