Access requirements

The requirements for access to this degree are those established in general in Royal Decree 822/2021, in the wording given in Article 18 thereof. Regulations for Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree courses at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).

In order to access the official university master’s degree courses, it is necessary to hold one of the following degrees:

  • Official Spanish university degree of Graduate or equivalent, or another University Master’s degree, or degrees of the same level as the Spanish Bachelor’s or Master’s degree issued by universities and institutions of higher education of a country of the EHEA that in that country allows access to Master’s studies.
  • Degrees from educational systems that do not form part of the EHEA, which are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, without the need for homologation of the degree, but with verification by the university of the level of training involved, provided that in the country where the degree was issued it allows access to postgraduate university studies. In no case will access by this route imply the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than that of carrying out the Master’s studies.
  • A foreign university degree recognized by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official Spanish university degree or a foreign higher education degree declared by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official university degree or academic level that allows access to a Master’s degree.
  • Of an official university degree corresponding to the organization prior to the EHEA in accordance with the provisions of the first additional provision of Royal Decree 822/2021: Official bachelor’s degree, graduate without additional training.
  • Exceptionally, students of a Spanish or EHEA degree who still have to pass the TFG and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits (TFG and subjects) may be conditionally admitted, but in no case together (TFG and subjects) may exceed 30 ECTS credits. Undergraduate students who have yet to accredit the knowledge of a foreign language required to obtain a bachelor’s degree may also be admitted.

Quotas for seat reservations:

The UPV will reserve at least 5 percent of the places offered in official university Master’s degrees for students with a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 percent, as well as for students with permanent educational support needs associated with personal circumstances of disability, who in their previous studies have required resources and support for their full educational inclusion.

In the latter case, the UPV’s Service for Students with Disabilities (CEDAT Foundation) will be responsible for assessing each case in order to issue the relevant report on the appropriateness of formalizing pre-registration for a UPV master’s degree for this quota of reserved places. For this purpose, the interested party will provide the Service with the information and supporting documentation required for the evaluation of his/her application. Places within each quota will be ordered and awarded according to the admission grade.
