Access requirements

The requirements for access to this degree are those generally established in Royal Decree 822/2021, in the wording given in its article 18. Likewise, those established in the Regulations for Pre-registration and Admission to university master’s degree studies at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) are also applicable.

To access the official university master’s degree courses, it is necessary to hold one of the following degrees:

  • Official Spanish university degree of Graduate or equivalent, or another University Master’s degree, or degrees of the same level as the Spanish Bachelor’s or Master’s degree issued by universities and institutions of higher education of a country of the EHEA that in that country allows access to Master’s studies.
  • Degrees from educational systems that do not form part of the EHEA, which are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, without the need for homologation of the degree, but with verification by the university of the level of training involved, provided that in the country where the degree was issued it allows access to postgraduate university studies. In no case will access by this route imply the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than that of carrying out the Master’s studies.
  • A foreign university degree recognized by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official Spanish university degree or a foreign higher education degree declared by the Ministry of Education as equivalent to an official university degree or academic level that allows access to a Master’s degree.
  • From an official university degree corresponding to the organization before the EHEA in accordance with the provisions of the first additional provision of Royal Decree 822/2021: Official degree of architect, graduate or engineer. Official degree of graduate, technical architect, technical engineer or technical engineer, with the training complements that, where appropriate, were required and in accordance with the provisions of the corresponding report of verification of the master’s degree to which it is intended to access.
  • Exceptionally, students of a Spanish or EHEA degree who still have to pass the TFG and a maximum of 9 ECTS credits may be conditionally admitted. Undergraduates who have yet to accredit the knowledge of a foreign language required to obtain a bachelor’s degree may also be admitted.
  • Exceptionally, in the academic programs with successive courses in the field of Engineering and Architecture offered by the Universitat Politècnica de València, students may be conditionally admitted to study the official master’s degree of this program without having completed the related degree, provided that they still have to pass the TFG and one or more subjects that in any case together (TFG and subjects) may not exceed 30 ECTS credits.

In no case students with conditional enrollment in a master’s degree (both in official master’s degrees that are part of academic programs with successive courses and in the rest of the official master’s degrees) obtain the master’s degree if they have not previously obtained the bachelor’s degree.
