Description of the title

Today, society is increasingly aware of the implications that production has on the environment, human health and the territory. At the international level, at the last COP 28 (Dubai), a commitment was made to continue moving towards climate neutrality by 2050. Achieving this goal requires a transformation of society and the economy, which will have to be profitable, equitable and socially balanced.

All this is going to be a revulsive, as it will imply the need for proposals for more sustainable territorial and development models, as well as the generation of more rational production systems based on circular, low-carbon economy criteria and with a less intensive use of resources.

The incorporation of these environmental requirements implies that the economic sectors, including the primary sector, will have to modify or adapt their production processes in order to remain economically profitable if they wish to maintain their activity.

The generalist and basic training that students receive in current undergraduate studies, even in the case of regulated professions that continue with a qualifying master’s degree, needs to be completed with specific competencies and learning outcomes in order to become specialists in the subject matter of the master’s degree.

Objectives of the degree

The degree seeks to train professionals from the world of Engineering and the Environment who are capable of analyzing, diagnosing, planning and managing projects from the perspective of Bioenvironmental and Landscape Engineering.

Environmental Engineering, because the competencies, skills, abilities and learning outcomes to be developed fall in this field, and with the prefix “bio”, because it is in the field of biosystems (agri-food, forestry and natural environment) where they will be mainly developed.

Career opportunities

The current situation in the professional field of engineering, both in consulting, business and public administration, requires professionals specialized in the knowledge of the natural environment, its effects and degradation processes, as well as in the planning and design of appropriate technical solutions from the perspective of prevention and remediation.

  • Engineering consulting
  • Private sector companies
  • Public Administration
  • Specialization in knowledge of the natural environment
  • Planning and design of technical solutions
  • Prevention and remediation of degradation processes

Aimed primarily at

This master’s degree is designed for professionals with previous training in engineering and environmental sciences.

  • Graduates and Masters in Agronomy Engineering
  • Graduates and Masters in Forestry Engineering
  • Industrial Engineers
  • Environmental Engineers
  • Civil Engineers
  • Chemical Engineers
  • Equivalent qualifications to those mentioned above
  • Environmental Science Graduates

Internships

The degree allows you to opt for external internships to bring your training closer to the reality of professional activity. There are two types of internships available:

Curricular

They are included in the Syllabus in the Complementary Training Module. The subject, which is optional, has 6 ECTS, so the internship will have a duration of 150 hours.

Extracurricular

They are not included in the Syllabus, but will be reflected in the student’s transcript. They will have a maximum duration of 900 hours.

The internship is a very important complement to the theoretical and practical learning and will allow you to gain experience in the selection process and professional job search, as well as work experience.

The Internship Unit (UPE) of the ETSIAMN will provide you with all the information related to these internships (requirements for access, documentation to be submitted, available offers, etc).

Research and access to Ph.

Completion of the Master’s degree allows access to doctoral programs at the UPV.

Academic exchange / agreements with other universities

In the section on International of the ETSIAMN website you will find information structured in five sections:

– Contact us: who we are and how to reach us

– Documentation:
– the regulations governing this School with respect to exchanges under mobility programs for courses and/or TFG; a model form to be filled out if applicable (Study Recognition Agreement);
– the latest presentations (.pdf) that have been shown to students and PDI/PAS with basic information on the various mobility options and their characteristics;
– the memories of the International Relations area (IR II) that were written for the period 2004/05 to 2009/10 in each of the two schools (ETSIA and ETSMRE) that gave rise to the current one (ETSIAMN).

– International Studies:
– mini-presentations by country indicating the universities with which ETSIAMN has an exchange agreement;
– a general list of the universities with which we have an agreement.
– International Seminars: the seminar programs in the LE courses (cycles) ¿International Seminars in Life Sciences I and II¿ of the last three years (including the current year).

– Activities: in ppio., the conferences organized by this subdirection of RR II of the ETSIAMN are listed below.

Facilities and laboratories

Being a Master promoted by the ETSIAMN, the facilities and laboratories of the same are available for its teaching. Likewise, several Departments collaborate with their own facilities.

Master’s Thesis

The Master’s syllabus requires the completion of a Master’s Final Project in order to complete the studies. This will consist of an original and individual work or project, in which knowledge, skills and competences acquired by the student throughout his studies will be shown.

The TFM can be carried out through several proposal modalities:

  • Ordinary: the student chooses, prioritized according to the criteria established by the UPV, one of the TFM from the annual offer or list proposed by the departments. The tutor will be the professor proposing the TFM.
  • Concerted: the student agrees, at any time during the course, with the professor, on his/her own initiative, on the title and the subject to be developed in a TFM that is not in the list proposed by the departments.
  • In-company internships: the student develops his/her TFM in a company, institution or entity related to the contents and competences of the academic degree. The student will look for a tutor in the ETSIAMN appropriate to its subject and another external tutor with a contractual relationship with the company, institution or entity in which the work is developed.

The formal, procedural and administrative requirements for the development of the TFM are specified in the framework regulations for final degree projects (TFM) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), in the specific regulations of the TFM of the ETSIAMN and in the procedural annexes developed for this purpose.
