Access requirements
The conditions for access to the Master’s Degree in Forestry Engineering are those established in Article 16 of RD 1393/2007 of October 29, 2007, as amended by RD 861/2010, and those indicated in the order CIN/326/2009 establishing the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that enable the exercise of the profession of Forestry Engineer.
To access the master’s degree, the student must be in possession of a bachelor’s degree. The reference degree for access is the Degree in Forestry and Natural Environment Engineering of the UPV. Therefore, this is considered as the reference degree and its graduates, according to the established merit assessment criteria, will be admitted, if applicable, without training complements to the aforementioned Master’s Degree.
The rest of the degrees give access to the master’s degree, although an individualized study of each situation will be required to determine the necessary training complements for admission, depending on the student’s origin. The ERT will establish the educational complements that must be completed, which, in any case, will be considered prerequisites for admission.
Graduates in Technical Engineering from the previous regulation must obtain, by means of the itinerary established for adaptation, the corresponding Bachelor’s Degree.
In addition to the above, it will be considered a preferential requirement for admission the accreditation of the B2 level in a foreign language and the university access grade, in the terms regulated by the UPV.
Admission for disabled students
The CEDAT Foundation of the UPV offers information and advice to members of the university community with disabilities, as well as accompaniment and support in the classroom. In addition, it provides technical aids for study to those members of the student body who, due to their special educational needs, require it. It also promotes and manages training and employment actions for this group, both inside and outside the UPV campuses, and offers different services from its Special Employment Center.
The foundation also carries out projects for the elimination of architectural and urban barriers, comprehensive accessibility plans, accessibility audits, project reviews, advice and design of ideal accessibility models.
Admission criteria
Applications for admission to the Master’s Degree in Forestry Engineering that meet the access conditions and requirements will be evaluated by the Academic Committee of the Master’s Degree in accordance with the merit assessment and selection criteria described below:
A
Academic record
The evaluation of the transcript will be expressed in a score on a scale from 0 to 10 and will be obtained from the average grade of the transcript of the Degree with which the applicant accesses the Master, in accordance with the provisions of article 5.3 of Royal Decree 1125/2003. In the case of records graded on different scales, the corresponding equivalences will be established. The average grade will be standardized according to the conditions of the UPV.
B
Correspondence of the competences of the access degree with those of the Reference Degree.
The adequacy of the contents of the academic curriculum of the Access Degree to the competences acquired in the Reference Degree will be assessed. This evaluation will be expressed in a score on a scale from 0 to 10.
C
Curriculum Vitae
The applicant’s curriculum vitae will be evaluated, especially in aspects related to work experience in the field of the Master’s Degree, continuous training and knowledge of foreign languages. The evaluation will be expressed with a score on a scale from 0 to 10.
It is recommended that all three criteria be considered in the final evaluation. Relative weights will be established within the following ranges:
- Academic record: 40-60%.
