Last Friday, January 10, the first year students of the Master’s Degree in Textile Engineering visited two companies with very different production processes.
First we went to Banyeres de Mariola to learn about the processes used by the company ALBERO I SEMPERE, S.L. to manufacture its nonwoven products. The students were able to learn about the importance and scope of textile recycling and the possibilities that the manufacturing process of nonwoven fabrics offers to develop very different products for very different applications and sectors from all types of textile fibers.
Later we went to Cocentaina to learn about the warp knitting machinery of the company TEXTIGEN, S.L. The company’s managers taught us the techniques of raschel and crochet, as well as the knitting to achieve products for trimmings, haberdashery and also for more sophisticated markets such as the automotive industry.
These were two very interesting and different visits that allowed the students to broaden their knowledge of machinery and processes that are not contained in the laboratories used in the degree program.
We would like to thank the managers of both companies for allowing us to enter their facilities and learn about their developments, as well as for the pleasant welcome they showed us.
