Access requirements

The Degree in Aerospace Engineering of the UPV is the official university degree that has been used as a reference for the design of the syllabus of the Master in Computational Fluid Mechanics of the UPV. Therefore, this is considered as the reference degree, and its graduates may be admitted to the above mentioned master’s degree. Graduates of other degrees with related competences, such as the Degree in Mechanical Engineering and the Degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering, and for any graduate of the following branches: Engineering and Architecture, Industrial and Aeronautical. Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering.

Likewise, graduates with degrees equivalent to those indicated in the previous paragraph from any Spanish university will be admitted, if applicable, without complementary training.

Graduates in Technical Engineering from the previous regulation must obtain, by means of the itinerary established for adaptation, the corresponding Bachelor’s Degree.

When there are more candidates than places offered, it is the responsibility of the Degree Academic Committees to evaluate the merits of the candidates and prioritize them according to the specific requirements and evaluation criteria included below.

Language requirements

Students whose native language is not English must provide, as a pre-enrollment requirement, a certificate of English level B2, from the certifying bodies included in the tables of certificates recognized by ACLES ( Association of Language Centers in Higher Education).

The following will be exempted: UPV students who have accredited a knowledge of English, with a level corresponding to B2, by any of the means established by the UPV.

Foreign students whose native language is not Spanish must provide, as a pre-enrollment requirement, a certificate of Spanish level B1, from the certifying bodies included in the tables of certificates recognized by ACLES ( Association of Language Centers in Higher Education).

Those foreign students, whose native language is not Spanish and do not have certificates included in the ACLES tables, must pass a mandatory interview for their assessment (in person or by telematic means) in which they must prove their identity and their knowledge of Spanish.

Admission for disabled students

In the case of students with specific educational needs arising from disability, appropriate support and counseling services will be established to assess the needs of curricular adaptations, itinerary or alternative studies through the support of the CEDAT foundation of the UPV.

The UPV’s CEDAT Foundation offers information and advice to members of the university community with disabilities, as well as accompaniment and support in the classroom. It provides technical aids for the study to those students who, due to their special educational needs, require it. It promotes and manages training and employment actions for this group inside and outside the UPV campuses, and provides different services from its Special Employment Center. It also carries out projects for the elimination of architectural and urban barriers, Integral Accessibility Plans, accessibility audits, project reviews and advice and design of ideal models.

Admission criteria

Applications for admission to the Master in Computational Fluid Mechanics that meet the access conditions and specific admission requirements will be evaluated by the Master’s Academic Committee in accordance with the merit assessment and selection criteria described below.

The evaluation of the transcript will be expressed in a score on a scale from 0 to 10 and will be obtained from the average grade of the transcript of the Degree with which the applicant accesses the Master, in accordance with the provisions of article 5.3 of Royal Decree 1125/2003. In the case of records graded on different scales, the corresponding equivalences will be established.

The average grade of each file will be standardized according to the conditions regulated by the UPV. Relative weight in the final evaluation: 40-60%.

Correspondence of the competences of the access degree with those of the Reference Degree.

The adequacy of the contents of the academic curriculum of the Bachelor’s Degree with which the applicant accesses the Master’s Degree to the competencies acquired in the Reference Degree will be assessed. This evaluation will be expressed in a score on a scale from 0 to 10. Relative weight in the final evaluation: 40-60%.

Curriculum Vitae

The applicant’s curriculum vitae will be evaluated, especially in those aspects that have to do with work experience in the field of the Master’s Degree, continuous training and knowledge of foreign languages. The evaluation will be expressed with a score on a scale from 0 to 10. Relative weight in the final evaluation: 0-10%.

All applications received will be ranked according to the weighted score obtained and taking into account the preference criteria indicated in the specific requirements section. As many applicants will be admitted as places are offered, in strict order of priority. In the event of resignations, and provided that there are applications on the waiting list, vacancies will be filled until the number of places offered or until the waiting list is exhausted, following the order of priority established above.

Scholarships

Studies leading to an official university degree allow access to scholarships and grants. The Ministry of Education, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Universitat Politècnica de València itself offer various scholarships and grants.

General scholarships for students pursuing post-compulsory studies valid throughout the national territory. The scholarship will consist of exemption from payment of fees for the provision of university academic services (tuition fees), corresponding to subjects enrolled for the first time. Other fixed and variable amounts may also be obtained, if the requirements established for this purpose are met.

For the awarding of the scholarship it is necessary to prove administrative residence in the Valencian Community and not to exceed the income thresholds established by the call, as well as to comply with the general and academic requirements. The scholarship consists of the exemption from the payment of fees for the provision of university academic services (tuition fees), for subjects enrolled in first and second enrollment.

The Universitat Politècnica de València offers various scholarships or grants such as social action grants, canteen grants or collaboration training grants. There are also grants for sportsmen and women.

Pre-registration process

Pre-registration is the procedure used to order all the applications received by each university master’s degree, according to the access requirements that have been established and the evaluation of the merits presented by each applicant.
