In this video we explore the relationship between orbital period and major semi-axis of an orbit from a mathematical perspective. We calculate the derivative of the orbital period function to determine if it's increasing or decreasing, and find that it's always positive, making the function increasing. This means that the longer the major axis, the more time it takes to complete a full orbit. The video also briefly discusses how satellites are classified into low, medium, and high earth orbits based on their distance from the Earth.
